Honey, Oats & Lemon Face Mask

Honey, oats & lemon in a face mask can work both for combination skin and dry skin. If you have sensitive skin, use just honey & oats. The lemon may irritate your skin! But, this is my favorite and go to face mask that can be quickly made. It also has different ways of being applied based on what you like. Any use of organic products would be ideal.

What you need

1 1/2 tablespoon of honey
Quarter of a lemon
2-3 table spoons of oats
1-2 small bowls (depends on you want to apply, see below)

Really don't worry that much about measurements; it really is just a guesstimate on your own needs.

1) Squeeze the lemon & mix all three ingredients together. Rub into skin with CLEAN fingers (can't stress clean enough). Leave for 15-30 minutes based on your own needs. If it begins to irritate you, rinse it off…

2) Squeeze half of your lemon wedge into one bowl & the other half into another. Mix one bowl with oats & the other with honey. The lemon & oat mix can be messaged into your skin with CLEAN fingers. Rinse off. Apply the mixture of lemon & honey onto face evenly. Leave this on for 15-30 minutes.

3) Instead of the above, have honey into both bowls. Apply in the same fashion. Honey & oats first followed by honey & lemon afterwards. The latter will be left on

4) You could also mix oats and water together first and apply the other two after...

5) I’m sure there is even more ways I can’t think of right now.

Overall this face mask both moisturizes and exfoliates.

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish

During these cold winter months, our lips and skin can become extremely dry --especially for me. It is really important to keep moisturized; it helps your skin stay soft and helps against the signs of aging! I want to start off with the Fresh Sugar Lip Polish.

What I like about this product is it keeps my lips moisturized and does some exfoilating. Keep in my mind I have a really bad case of dry lips. I bite and lick my lips a lot! I use this product for the past week, more than recommended (I use it five times a week). I already notice how much more softer my lips are. This product also uses fine sugar to exfloiate, which is a good thing. You do not want to use larger pieces, it can damage skin/lips easily!

I recommend this product to those who do not have a serious case of dry lips.

Lush Colour Supplement

Dark Yellow
Lush Colour Supplement ($16.95 US) V

I bought one of these products in September to reduce my use of foundation that can clog up my pores. I was really impressed with this product because it doesn't increase my blemishes. It also did not dry out my pores that I find to happen easily. This product isn't made for full coverage, but if you are like me and trying to clear away your blemishes and the use of harsh products this is ideal. It helps to make your skin glow.

Although my scars still show through with this, I wouldn't have it any other way. Foundations I have previously used with full coverage, covers up the problem instead of getting to the root of it. My scarring problem cannot be fixed if I just cover it up.

recommend this product to anyone who wants to add a glow to your skin or help to even out your skin tones!

2013 Resolution

Towards the end of December, I wanted to create myself a realistic Resolution. I don't know how many of you reading this also share the same problem of touching your blemishes, I know I personally cannot stop. To be honest, I don't have a serious acne problem -- I barely even have any -- but with stress it comes! I want to create a year long commitment of not only to stop touching them, but to prevent them as much as possible. I plan on posting beauty products that work for sensitive/dry skin and makeup products/tips. I hope I can help others out there who have the same problem as I. Click here to read a bit more

Ocean Salt by Lush

Lush in the past couple of months has become my little obsession. I knew about it before, but I overlooked their products completely. After years and years of trying different products to help my dry and sensitive skin, Lush is the only place that has seemed to give my face moisture  and does not damage my skin.

One of the products I want to talk about is Ocean Salt, an exfoliator. When I was lurking around the internet, reading many beauty bloggers posts on great exfoliators, I came across the use of sea salt. I was a little bit skeptical, I was worried that it would not be fine enough and end up damaging my skin more than anything! With previous years of using the Extra Virgin Olive Oil & White Sugar, I noticed how harsh it felt to rub the sugar against my face. Although the Olive Oil was moisturizing my face, it just made my skin more irritated with the use of sugar.

I came across a blog (which I forget what is was called now :[ ) mentioning that Lush had a sea salt exfoilator, but they brought up that it had both fine and bigger sea salt pieces. When I went into Lush to see how big the pieces were, they weren't big at all!

I actually notice a difference in my skin after using this. It is fine enough for my sensitive skin and it makes my skin glow (as it is taking away dead skin).

Overall:
- does not dry out my skin
- leaves my skin feeling smooth
- does not damage my skin
- has fine textures that work!

I recommend this product to those who have dry and sensitive skin, actually... I recommend this to any skin type.

High-Low of Summer

Sorry about the polyvore. Kind of addicted. More so, I don't know if you have bought yourself a pair of high-low skirts or dresses for the summer. They seem to be selling everywhere and getting sold out in a few of my favourite locations. I really love these because there are so many ways to dress it up, casual to night, whatever your style may be. I have yet to buy some myself, but I'm dying to before this season ends.

Polyvore - Yellow Pop of Colour

Usually, a popular choice for a pop of colour would be red. However, I've noticed when you introduce a bold blue, rich green or bright yellow's you get an even more dramatic yet equally sophisticated affect. So to demonstrate this Polyvore was one way (perhaps I should display this affect through a photoshoot too?).

Fanshawe's Visual Merchandising Fashion for Paws

I attended an annual Visual Merchandising Fashion Show that my sister had taken part as the merchandiser. Our local stores generously sponsored the show ( Lolita, Frilly Lizard and Commander Salamander) . This show was called "Fashion for Paws" because all money made went to two charities, Animal Rescue Foundation & CanFix. So, yes there were dogs on the cat walk as well (Ha! See what I did there?). I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my full outfit I had wore for that night, but there are a few there of accessories I wore that I bought both at Aldo Accessories. This is slightly picture heavy..

Plans...

If you are looking at this blog you are probably familiar with my nail art blog. I had originally planned to make that blog my fashion blog with nail art within it. I never did get a chance to transform it into the fashion blog I wanted it to be because I want it to focus on nails. So this blog will consist of beauty products, products bought, fashion, etc. Mostly reviews, hopefully tutorials, and general discussions of fancy things. So stay tuned for hopefully an amazing blog to come :)?
...maybe I'll post an amazing fashion photography at the end of my posts... hmm...

credit for photo given to who ever took it? It's marvelous isn't it ;)?
